Surry Hills Stones began with a suitcase of crystals and a leap of faith.

In 2019, Otavio, a metallurgical engineer, returned from visiting his family in Brazil with a small collection of crystals and the idea of building something of his own. Soon after, Nicola, a marketing specialist with a background in design, joined him on this new family adventure.

Nicola also grew up around art and antiques, sourcing pieces alongside her late father, who was an art dealer. These familial connections made 

What began as a passion project on a kitchen table during the pandemic quickly grew into a vibrant community of collectors discovering minerals from around the world.

Today we continue to curate exceptional mineral specimens sourced from Brazil and beyond. We travel internationally to hand-select pieces and bring them back to our studio in South Philadelphia's BOK Building to show to you. Thank you for being a part of our small, family-owned business.
